Taxi collision leaves 12 injured

LANSERIA – A taxi and a bakkie collided on R114 near Lion Park, leaving 12 people injured on 18 May.

A collision between a taxi and bakkie on the morning of 18 May, on the R114 near the Lion Park, Johannesburg North, has left 12 people injured.

Paramedics from ER24 Johannesburg North arrived on scene and found both vehicles on the side of the road while occupants from the taxi and bakkie were walking around.

Paramedics assessed the patients – passengers from the taxi and others who had been sitting on the back of the bakkie.

The 12 injured sustained minor to moderate injuries.

The patients were treated on scene and thereafter transported to Helen Joseph Hospital and various other hospitals for further treatment and observations.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.

Comment from Honeydew Police is still awaited.
