BREAKING NEWS: Bakkie overturns on Beyers Naudé drive

RANDPARK RIDGE – A motor vehicle and its trailer overturned on the corner of Beyers Naudé drive and Eastwood Avenue.

A Bakkie and its attached trailer overturned on the corner of Eastwood Avenue and Beyers Naudé Drive in Randpark Ridge on the morning of 30 April.

Operations Manager for Vital Med Eric Nicholls said that the driver was travelling at 40 kilometers an hour when his vehicle hit the kerb of the road’s island, and overturned around 9.45am. Two individuals were sitting on the back of the bakkie when the impact occurred.

There were no fatalities reported although both of the individuals at the back were injured and treated by emergency services, that shortly arrived on the scene.

One of the witnesses Alice Smith recounted what she saw “He was driving in front of us when I noticed that he was coming down and the trailer started swerving. I think it might have been the wind. It’s tough driving a load or freight on the road,” she said.

Nicholls was on scene. He said, “The driver attempted to park in the yellow section of the when the vehicle hit the pavement kerb the vehicle and the trailer capsized on the road,” he said
