Suspect at large after three-hour chase

BORDEAUX – Two suspects were arrested after being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Two suspects have been arrested and one is still at large after an approximate three-hour chase in Hurlingham on 9 February.

Randburg Police stopped a suspicious vehicle in Hurlingham on Waterfall Street, and as the police attempted to apprehend the suspects, all three tried to manoeuvre an escape through the green belt into Bordeaux.

Two suspects were arrested, while the other managed to flee.

A concerned resident of Bordeaux witnessed the incident and immediately alerted his security provider, CSS Tactical.

Communty members, CSS Tactical and the Randburg SAPS gave chase in search of the third suspect.

A helicopter and K-9 unit were deployed to assist in the search.

According to Juan Koch of CSS Tactical, ”The suspect jumped over a fence where a domestic worker was doing washing. The male apparently attacked the woman for a short while and then fled, stealing clothing. All three entities gave chase for about three hours.”

Koch added, ”This behaviour alludes to something far more serious. It was awesome to work together on all three levels.”

Randburg SAPS spokesperson Warrant Officer Johannes Maja confirmed that a docket has been opened “for possession of a stolen motor vehicle

as well as possession of house break-in implements, such as a pic and screw drivers”.

Details: Randburg SAPS, 011 449 9000 or CSS Tactical 086 191 1119.
