Great attendance at Domesitc Watch meeting

WELTEVREDEN PARK – Domestic workers clued up about crime after they attended Sector 2 Domestic Watch meeting.

Sector 3 CPF held their first Domestic Watch meeting for 2015 at Weltevreden Park Pre-Primary School on 22 January.

Sector 2 chairman Neville Burnett explained that they invited all of the security companies to the meeting and were impressed that all of them showed up. “The following security companies were present: ADT, Best Secure, Beagle Watch and Londoloza Protection Group,” he said.

He explained that the topics at the meeting centralised around crime prevention. “We decided to start by informing the workers about what they can do to keep themselves safe and the homes that they work in.

“I have to thank Sergeant Nicholas Makhura, Sector 2 manager at Honeydew Police station. He did a sterling job in explaining crime to the workers and what they need to do to prevent it from happening and what they need to be on the lookout for.”

The date of the next Domestic Watch meeting will be announced shortly.

“One of the ideas that we want to chat about at the next meeting is the possibility of starting a WhatsApp group for the domestic workers. So we urge residents and workers to put on their thinking caps and come up with ideas about how we can implement a WhatsApp group in the everyday lives of these workers.”
