Burned Maltese is not forgotten

NORTH RIDING – Maltese found with burns all over his little body.

An adult male Maltese poodle cross was found by a resident with bruises on his body, along Malibongwe Drive near Cosmo City.

The member of the public took the little dog to the SPCA Randburg.

His coat was immensely matted and full of filth and dirt.

According to the SPCA, his body was not even visible through his thick matted fur.

Leigh de Beaufort, inspector at SPCA Randburg commented, ”His rump was furless with fresh scabbing. I clipped the matted fur from his face, behind the shoulders and down his hind legs, suppurating wounds were apparent once the fur was clipped off, he was in absolute agony.”

De Beaufort exclaimed, ”It is obvious a person threw either boiling water or oil onto him as he was running away. How long he endured the

excruciating pain is unknown!”

The team has been administering antibiotics and anti-inflammatory tablets as well as washing him head to toe in Allermyl shampoo for the fleas.

He has become the sweetest, cheeky little dog and has been put up for adoption.

You can find him at SPCA Randburg at Kennel C3.
