The four suspects allegedly involved in the case of the kidnapping of a mother and an eight-month-old

baby, on 1 January (See previous story), appeared again at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 19 January.

The State is still investigating the verification of the passports for two of the four suspects involved in the case.

It has been postponed to 22 January.

The suspects have been charged with kidnapping, child abuse and extortion and remain in custody.

The male and female suspects again appeared in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on19 January regarding the case of counterfeit money (See previous story).

Cases of fraud / counterfeiting have been opened against them in Linden, Edenvale, Dobsonville, Randburg and Douglasdale.

The connection between these cases and the two suspects is yet to be made and will be done so after an identity parade.

The case has been postponed to 26 January for a formal bail application.

Warrant Officer Daniel Mavimbela commented at court, ”There have been many cases and complaints of this nature that has been drawn to the SAPS’ attention.”
