5-a-side tournament
BORDEAUX- 24 teams compete in the tournament hosted at the Old Parktonian sports club for the 5-a-side rounds of soccer.
The Old Parktonian’s 5-a-side indoor soccer club is hosting a tournament on 30 November.
The aim of these tournaments is to reach much of the 5-a-side market as possible in each and every community.
”We kicked off in Midrand where we had a turnout of 24 teams and now we are anticipating that over 40 teams will make it,” says public relations manager Nqobile Mabaso.
The tournament will be divided into two parts. The first half with start with registration at 8.30am and kick off at 9.00am.
The second half of the day will start with registration at 12pm and kick off at 12.30pm.
The teams are five players a side or alternatively seven a side which means five players and two substitutes.
Two celebrities, Bozza from Swatta Kamp and actor Leroy Gopal from SABC 1’s Ihawu, will also be participating,
The overall winner will win an all-expenses paid trip to Dubai next year in April.
”What is so awesome about these tournaments is that last year in Dubai, two players were invited by professional scouts to come for trials at
Manchester city and Chelsea.”
