“I was at a restaurant in Harmanes where I saw a couple battling to get their baby to stop crying. Eventually they put the baby in the car and the crying stopped. I thought there must be something to simulate a car ride. This is where Baby Lala was born,” explained Quinten.

Baby Lala is a hand-made mobile device, packaged in a cute cushion that simulates the vibrations of riding in a car. “My sister’s baby is colic and it worked for her and I am confident it will work for other babies as well.”

It is recommended by paediatricians and neurologist paediatricians who have found this product to be very soothing and calming for infants and toddlers.

“There is a similar product in America, but it works differently. There is nothing like it on the market in South Africa.”

The device is completely mobile/ universal and compact making it easy to move from the pram to the camp-cot with little effort. It also comes with a USB cable so you can charge it through your laptop or car lighter,220 V wall plug.

“Baby Lala is all about aiding mothers to have a little ‘me’ time while knowing their baby is sound asleep.”

Quiten will be launching his unique invention at the Mama Magic Baby Expo from 27 to 30 November at the Coca Cola Dome.

“Because I make everything myself, I will only have 200 Baby Lalas on offer at the Expo at a discounted price, so you need to hurry if you want one.”
