Hot 91.9 FM goes live

NORTH RIDING – Johannesburg welcomes Hot 91.9 FM – a community radio aimed at making radio fun again and serving the community.

Hot 91.9 FM had its first live breakfast show on 17 November at Fancourt Office Park,in North Riding.

Radio giants came together about a year ago to create a community radio station that will serve the people.

Lloyd Madurai, founder and general manager suggests, “A bunch of us got together to create a station that brings the fun back to radio, with passionate guys we have created a platform that will serve the needs of the community.”

The list of radio veterans is endless with decades of experience between all of the leading hosts.

Some of the legends are: Jeremy Mansfield, Darren Scott, Sasha Martinego, John Walland, Treassure Tshabalala, Andy Leve and Simon Hill.

The first Joburgs’ Hottest Breakfast Show broadcasted without a hitch.

There were cheers and excitement throughout the entire station.

It was and will continue to be hosted by Darren Scott, Jeremy Mansfield, Hayley Owen and Andy Leve (traffic) among others.

For many people this has been a dream that has been long awaited and to see the successful implementation of such a project was heart-warming.

Hot 91.9 FM will be a radio station that works with the community, especially the NGOs and NPCs in any way they can.

They have received great support from the community in terms of technical equipment and funding.
