Halloween 2014 spooks all

Halloween takes over Johannesburg with residents flocking from all over the city to experience a scary and spooky time at The Bright Water Commons.

Halloween excited residents on 31 October at the 5th Annual Toomie Awards at the Bright Water Commons.

‘HorrowWood’ or Halloween was bigger and greater than the previous years, with nearly every store handing out delicious treats to the little

trick-or-treaters.

The festivities started early at 3pm with children and parents commencing with the rounds of trick-or-treat at each store. The Bright Water Commons was littered with sweet wrappers, witch hats, vampires and ghosts. All of the costumes were outstanding and sent shivers up unsuspecting viewers’ spines.

The 5th Annual Toomie Awards started at 4.30pm with the pre-primary school, primary school, high school and adults entries taking to the stage in their cute and definitely scary costumes. Judges from the North West Caxton branch, sales manager Daleen Swanepoel, branch manager Chris Halstead and group editor Sammi-Jo Botha had the incredibly difficult, but fun, task of judging all of the creepy costumes.

Throughout the evening there was a Creepy Bones Magic Show for the children, a House of Horrors and huge jumping castles to entertain all.
