Brotherhood of Believers hosts golfday for Pipe Line

NORTH RIDING - Kya Sand Informal Settlement gets help from the members of BOB.

Brotherhood of Believers (Bob) hosts a gold day at Jackal Creek Golf Course on 18 November for their disaster relief fund for Pipe Line Informal Settlement.

Bob is a men’s group that meets twice a month and is based at the Barn Christian Fellowship in Boskruin.

”We have seen a necessity to establish a disaster fund within the church in order to meet the need of people or communities affected by unfortunate and sudden disasters. The recent devastating fire in Kya Sands as well as the accident on the freeway being case in point. We will also provide financial support to the volunteer paramedics that do such valuable work in Van Reenen’s Pass over the Christmas season,” says member Walter Bland.

In order to get the ball rolling and launch the fund, they have organised a golf day for members of the church and local businesses. ”We have already received support from the Fury motor group and others” said Bland.

The golf day will be held on 18 November at the Jackal Creek Golf course, tee off is at 12pm with a four-ball course.

Cost is R2 000 for the golf day which includes a dinner.

If anyone would like to sponsor a hole, the cost is R1 500 per hole.

Donations or sponsorship of prizes are most welcome and they hope to have 22 in a four-ball course.

”I believe that it will be a hugely successful day and raise awareness on the plight of people that are caught unawares by life’s unforeseen disasters,” commented Bland.
