Ward inspected for problems

RANDBURG – Issues in Vandia Grove and Beverley Gardens are logged.

Many municipal problems in Vandia Grove and Beverley Gardens may soon be resolved.

This is because Ward 104 councillor Mike Wood and Ward 104 urban inspector Nokuthula Ngobese travelled around the suburbs on 10 October.

Using a list provided by the Vandia Grove Resident’s Association (VGRA), they inspected many issues and logged them with relevant departments in the City of Johannesburg, for attention.

Roads damaged by burst water pipes, abandoned houses and trees covering stop signs, were some of the problems identified.

Others were streets needing speed control measures, bins left unemptied and unremoved for a long time, blocked storm water drains and illegal signage.

“I am glad the City of Johannesburg is looking at the issues,” VGRA committee member Donna Sipman said.

“When they look after them they make this a nice place to live in and improve the value of the houses.”

Wood and Ngobese have already inspected Strijdom Park, Ferndale, Kengsington B and Fontainebleau.

They will visit Bryanston and Douglasdale next. Wood urged residents to log issues with the City of Johannesburg.
