Congratulations to karate pupils

Explore the kicks that the children get out of their karate grading in Cosmo City.

Karate students have put in months of hard training to test their knowledge of karate on their first grading which was on 3 October.

The team of children, youth and adults had to demonstrate their knowledge through a variety of techniques during the grading event held at Cosmo Multipurpose Complex in Cosmo City.

The students had to demonstrate their knowledge of the sport in order to attain their yellow belts.

Everything from basic punches, blocks, kicks to katas and kumite was covered and each member proved that not only had they been putting in the hours in the training, but that they were more than ready for their next grading.

Although the minimum age for children to start training is seven, there is no upper limit.

Martial arts apart from being an interesting lifestyle choice are also a great way to get and stay in shape, regardless of age or physical ability.

The head instructor Sensei August said he is very happy and proud of all students as they have displayed good standard of karate.

”Without a doubt, they all deserved their new grades( yellow belts); they all showed impressive determination and hunger for the sport and therefore I believe that they now need exposure in different championships.”

Anyone interested in watching or trying a class is very welcome.

Classes take place at Cosmo Multipurpose Centre.
