SPCA Randburg needs a paws up

The SPCA in Randburg is in desperate need for blankets and donations.

The SPCA Randburg is in great need of blanket donations.

SPCA Randburg general manager, Craig Rudman said, “We are in great need of blankets for the dogs to sleep on.”

There are many animals that are up for adoption, that need forever homes.

Rudman suggests, “This place is my heart and soul, we as an organisation need monetary donations as well as blankets.”

There are some great success stories, on 6 September a very lonely looking Scotty dog was reunited with its owner.

The dog was brought to the SPCA as a stray, the owner found his beloved pet after plastering posters all over the area.

Both human and his best friends were overjoyed to reunite.

Animals that are brought to the SPCA are taken care of in five different ways:

  • Freedom from hunger and thirst
  • Freedom from discomfort
  • Freedom from pain, injury or disease
  • Freedom to express normal behaviour
  • Freedom from fear and distress
