Autism South Africa celebrate Heritage Day

Families come together to celebrate Heritage Day in North Riding.

Autism South Africa hosted a family day at Faery Glen Therapy Centre on 24 September.

In the spirit of Heritage Day, AutismSA ā€“ for the first time ā€“ brought together families affected by autism to have a ‘Lekker spit braai’ with some drinks and interactive games for the children.

National education facilitator from AutismSA Claire Allen said, “We brought families with children with autism to an environment where they can relate and have some family fun.”

Children played soccer or badminton, facilitated by the after-care services of Faery Glen Therapy Centre.

“It’s nice to share a relaxing time with families and friends in the sunshine,” says national director Sandi Klopper.
