BREAKING – Three suspects arrested for iStore mall robberies

CRESTA – Three suspects arrested by Hawks in connection with Cresta robbery.

CRESTA – It has been confirmed that three suspects have been arrested by the Hawks investigation unit in connection with the spate of iStore robberies which has recently taken place in malls across Gauteng.

The arrests were made 0n 12 September in Tembisa, north east of Jo’burg.

Hawks spokesperson, Paul Ramoloko, confirmed that they were three foreign nationals and that the investigation is still ongoing. It is believed that they are part of a syndicate.

The iStore at Cresta Mall was the first shop to be hit in the series of mall robberies on 13 August. Since then, 11 malls have been targeted in Gauteng.

iStore management have not been able to release on official statement as yet. “We have not received an update on the arrests made in the investigation by police yet,” said iStore spokesperson, Taryn Hyam.

A case of business robbery and attempted murder was opened at Hillbrow Police Station.
