Brian Capper at Redbull X-Fighters

PRETORIA - Randburg motocross star features at Redbull X-Fighters.

As a testament to the sheer amount of sporting talent possessed by Randburg, local motocross star, Brian Capper, featured at the Redbull X-Fighters Freestyle Motocross World Tour 2014.

The event, hosted at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on 23 August, showcased some of the world’s best motocross riding, with champions from across the world competing for the tour title.

Although Capper was not participating in the main event, he still entertained fans with his unique brand of extreme trials during his stunt shows.

The 10 times supermoto and trials champion, who was also the first man to ride across the bow of the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban 2011, also won the Roof of Africa Challenge held in Lesotho annually, in 2002.

He was thrilled to be part of the X-Fighters event. “It’s great to be here and to be part of the Redbull X-fighters, it’s the final of the world tour,” said an excited Capper, saying that he was “blown away” by the number of people attending.

“This was such an awesome opportunity to ride in front of people who have never seen the sport before,” he continued. “It’s for us, it’s good for the sport and just amazing to see new people exposed to the sport, which will push it to a whole new level in South Africa.”

Capper will continue to compete in Enduro and EnduroX races both locally and internationally over the coming months.

The former North Riding resident will soon be moving to Broadacres, so Randburg residents can look forward to being entertained by his gravity defying ‘Xtreme Riding Xhibitions’.
