Murder mystery

BRYANSTON – Unidentified woman dies after being stabbed 50 times.

A woman was found lying on a pavement in Peter Place with more than 50 stab wounds on 16 August.

It was reported that a passer-by alerted ER24 after seeing the woman lying near a boom gate of an office park and an ambulance was dispatched immediately. It was also recounted by other publications that shortly before the woman died, she said it was her husband who had stabbed her.

“ER24’s Johannesburg North station is located in Peter Place and emergency staff arrived on scene within a few minutes,” stated ER24 spokesperson, Werner Vermaak.

“Paramedics found the injured woman barely responsive and breathing. They immediately loaded her into the ambulance and rushed her to Mediclinic Sandton for further care. Despite all their efforts at hospital, the woman succumbed to her injuries.”

Vermaak continued to say that they had counted approximately 50 stab wounds on the victim’s body and that she had lost too much blood.

The victim was believed to be in her late 30s and her identity is still unknown at this stage.

“A case of murder has been opened,” stated Gauteng Provincial Police spokesperson, Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng. “We are appealing to the community to come forward if they have any information and report it at their nearest police station.”
