POEM: ‘Ebola’ by Dave Young

JOBURG – Resident Dave Young pays tribute to ebola victims.

Dave Young

Please remember, don’t forget

The EBOLA outbreak, the EBOLA threat

It seems to originate in West Africa;

Now it is spreading near and far.

It’s not possible to contain it within borders,

Soon it will lurk in all hospital corridors.

Just think of the poor souls dying a horrible death,

And those bereaved who still walk the earth.

All nations should make an effort to unite

To get this nasty disease out of sight

We found a cure for AIDS, malaria and T.B.

Surely there can be one for this EBOLI.

To quarantine those infected is not enough,

There must be a vaccine or some other stuff.

Instead of spending fortunes on rockets and arm deals,

Give scientists a grant to find what cures, what heals.

Pray the disease doesn’t spread to S.A. or Angola

Please Lord find a permanent cure for EBOLA
