Suikerbos water saga over

RANDPARK RIDGE – Severe water pipe burst completely resolved.

RANDPARK RIDGE – All watery traces of the burst pipe that left thousands of residents without running water, and properties and streets in Randpark Ridge flooded in early July, were removed last week.

The saga was caused by a pipe burst on Suikerbos Avenue, and even after it was repaired and running water returned to residents, water still emerged from the ground and leaked into the Knevitt family’s home.

Johannesburg Water attended to the problem, and repaired it last week.

Spokesperson for the entity, Millicent Kabwe, said that the leak was also caused by a crack in the water pipe – as the initial larger scale burst was.

Sandy Knevitt expressed joy that the leak was repaired.

The family has moved out of the house, along with their furniture, until the house is repaired and cleaned.
