Painters and home improvers buying paint at Jack’s Paint in Northriding on 28 June were in for a big surprise.
Sue Green and her famous JOY Dogs, Jazmine, Oscar and Yola came to grace the shop with their fluffy presence, much to the excitement of children accompanying their parents on their shopping trips.
The Educational Joy Dogs, of the Old English Sheepdog breed, are well known in South Africa after featuring in various television commercials over the last two decades, and Green has recently begun running workshops with her beautiful pups at schools and other care-giving institutions.
These workshops revolve around the therapeutic and caring aspect that the dogs bring. “We visit physically and mentally challenged people in institutions and old-age homes, mostly on a voluntary basis,” said Green.
This amazing animal lover is now aiming on spreading the Joy Dog love even further, by bringing her workshops to businesses and boardrooms with the aid of much-needed corporate sponsorships “to entertain staff, leaving them feeling much more motivated,” continued Green.
