Loyiso wows fans at Cresta

CRESTA - Loyiso Bala has won multiple high-profile awards, luxuriated in the company of the world's biggest stars and dignitaries and has even been proclaimed South Africa's best-dressed man. But it is his relationship with God that thrills him the most.

Gospel sensation Loyiso Bala was at CUM Books in Cresta on 21 June to promote his newest album Power|Love|Sound.

“I haven’t actually done promoting before,” the famous singer confessed while signing autographs and posing with fans.

The album gets its name, and its inspiration from Bible verse 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of Power, Love and a Sound mind.

Bala said that this verse in particular gives him strength.

“We recorded this gospel CD and DVD in April at Rhema Church in Randburg,” he explained.

“My band was there for the recording and it was great.”

He describes the music on the CD as music that appeals for the youth.

Loyiso has won five South African Music Awards (SAMAs), has even been nominated for an MTV-award and has been the recipient of GQ’s most stylish man award. Highlights of his career include performances alongside big names such as Jamelia, John Legend, Elton John and Akon and performing for dignitaries Nelson Mandela, Richard Branson and Oprah Winfrey.

He would probably say his relationship with God is his biggest triumph though.

“It’s been an awesome ride,” he said.
