Chicks hatch at school

RANDPARK RIDGE – Trinityhouse Pre-Primary Randpark Ridge pupils watch as Farmer Chris' eggs hatch.

Pupils at Trinityhouse Pre-Primary Randpark Ridge recently experienced the joy of watching chicks hatch at school, thanks to the visit of Farmer Chris, his eggs and incubators.

While everyone present watched Farmer Chris’ eggs in anticipation, pupils were taught important information about the life of an unborn chick, such as that chicks grow out of the white of the egg, and the yolk is there to feed them.

When the first chicks began to hatch, all floppy and wet initially and then fluffy, yellow and cute, excitement boiled over.

Then Farmer Chris allowed each pupil to hold a baby chick and admire their tooth on top of their beaks, used to help them break out of the eggs.

Everyone present will never forget the the cheeping of the fluffy day-old chicks.
