Free community exercise ensures a healthy lifestyle

WINDSOR EAST – Wellbeing celebrated at community centre throughout the week.

It’s no secret that a healthy body equals a healthy mind, and residents of Windsor East have a good reason to take that advice to heart.

Gillian Warner and her team of wellbeing specialists are currently offering free exercise classes at the Windsor East Community Centre (corner Viscounts and George avenues, Windsor East) every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, as well as Saturday mornings from 7am to 8am.

They are encouraging members of the community to join like-minded people who are interested in achieving a healthy, active lifestyle through exercise and healthy nutrition.

Local resident Brenda Simon started joining the classes in January, and has been rather chuffed with the results so far. “I’ve lost more than 10kg, and I feel great.”

Wellness assessments are also done free of charge on Monday to Friday mornings from 8am to 10am. This entails a body scan which reads weight, hydration percentage, muscle mass and metabolic age. This then allows Warner to advise people how to make healthy changes to their lifestyles.

“This is not a diagnostic measurement, but does give indications for making changes for healthy living,” stated Warner. “We do not claim to cure or treat, we just want to promote wellbeing. It’s fun, simple and magical.”
