Trinity pupils rap their way to the top

RANDPARK RDIGE – Trinityhouse awarded at speech and drama festival.

Trinityhouse Prepatory Randpark Ridge pupils recently participated in the Speech and Drama College of South Africa’s annual Speech and Drama Festival in Waverly.

At the awards evening, the Trinityhouse grades 1 to 3 Wycliffe group was awarded the Marcelle Pincus trophy for Best Group/Choral Verse for their item The Boneyard Rap.

“We are extremely proud of our incredible pupils’ achievements and the successful festival that provided fantastic entertainment for audiences,” said Hilton Scott, principal of Trinityhouse Pre-Primary Randpark Ridge.

The adjudicator for the festival was Duane Alexander, who has performed in major theatre productions such as Cats, Chicago and Beauty and the Beast.

The results were as follows:

  •  Wycliffe JP Group The Boneyard Rap by Wes Magee awarded prestige.
  •  Tyndale JP Group Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak awarded gold.
  •  Coverdale JP Group Bold Bears Behave Badly by Walter R. Brooks awarded silver.
  •  Wycliff SP Group The Goldilocks Rap by James Carter awarded prestige.
  •  Coverdale SP Group Wrapping Tutankhamen by Jane Clark awarded gold.
  • Tyndale SP Group The Sleeping Beauty by unknown author awarded silver.
