Unexplainable recess
FONTAINEBLEAU – Rabie Street must now be navigated carefully.
A large recess has formed on Rabie Street, Fontainebleau, between 7th Avenue and Percy Road.
The cause is unknown, as no road damage was reported to, or seen by, Randburg Sun in the specific area prior to its recent formation, and the Johannesburg Roads Agency has not yet been able to provide a report.
According to the agency’s spokesperson Bertha Peters-Scheepers, the agency will soon be on site to repair the road and determine the cause of the recess.
“The area will be immediately secured for road users as an interim measure until the recess is repaired,” she said.
“Once our inspectors have been on site we will be able to determine the cause.”
The recess is situated in the two lanes headed toward Malibongwe Drive and Randburg Sun has witnessed cars swerving toward oncoming traffic to avoid driving through it.
