Mystery death in parking lot

A man never returned from his lunch break.

A 55-year-old man was found dead in his car at the Boskruin Shopping Centre on 6 February.

The man was a a sales person at the Mica hardware store at the centre. According to witnesses the man left the store during his lunch break and never returned.

Witnesses saw how he climbed into his car with a meal and he started to eat. A security guard later noticed the man was not conscious as food was running down his chin.

Honeydew police spokesperson Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs said the police received a phone call at 11:45am. “The cause of death is not yet known. An inquest case docket was opened and a post-mortem examination will be conducted. No foul play is suspected.”
