Soccer star aims high

Randpark Ridge resident Paul Katulondi (22) is training for South Africa’s first division soccer.

Although he has not yet been given a contract, Katulondi has experience playing professionally in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and trains frequently at the Randburg Sports Complex.

“I know I will be a star,” the striker says. “I have the charisma, I am cool and I am handsome.” Katulondi is also a model, having done fashion shows and TV advertisements.

His goal is to play in SA’s first division, to gain experience and a reputation, and then to move to Belgium to play there.

Katulondi’s ideal Premier Soccer League team to play for is Orlando Pirates but he believes Bidvest Wits can increase his chances to play overseas.
