ROBINHILLS - School reaches out and helps Ann Harding Cheshire Home
The King’s School donated three new wheelchairs to the Ann Harding Cheshire Home on 28 June.
Teacher at the school Anita Bornmann said, “Supporting people less fortunate is something our school takes very seriously. We decided to sell tags to raise money to support the Ann Harding Cheshire Home.” Bornmann mentioned that the school used the money they collected and bought three wheelchairs for the organisation.
Ann Harding Cheshire Home resident Mandla Mhlanga said, “We have four residents that can not go anywhere because their wheelchairs are broken. It has a big impact on them because it allows the residents to move around freely and to explore the world around them. We were very glad to hear that the school were going to give us three wheelchairs.”
Bornmann added, “It feels good to do something for someone in need. I want to thank every pupil that was involved in making this project a success.”
Mhlanga said, “Residents at the home are always on the lookout and will appreciate any donations ranging old clothes to old books.”
