On May 5, the Nova Pioneer North Riding Campus launched the “Cool to Care” campaign, which intended to promote caring and love among Nova Pioneer students, staff, and parents.
The event featured a number of notable speakers, including DJ Fresh, a well-known radio personality, and Erick Macheru, a well-known actor from the popular TV drama Skeem Saam. Both presenters discussed how students might show care and compassion to one another, highlighting the value of kindness, empathy, and respect.

The campaign’s launch was a huge success, with students, faculty, and parents all joining in to show their support for this vital cause. The event brought together members of the Nova Pioneer community to celebrate the principles and culture of care, compassion, and kindness that are important to the school’s mission.
“Kindness is a superpower. The ability to turn your gifts into kindness and use them to help others is a superpower,” said DJ Fresh in his motivational speech to the students.

School leader Nneamaka Eziuku said that the campaign celebrates care for others within our school community.
“We want to elevate our students’ awareness of the importance and the impact of kindness in human interactions and to make kindness and care a cool choice for them. We are grateful to all our speakers, staff and parents who made this event such a resounding success.”
