Jackal Night Run receives new format
Runners will pass the clubhouse at the end of each loop to be encouraged by organisers and other runners.
As the popularity of running for fitness grows, the monthly night runs at Jackal Creek Golf Estate will be changing their format to become even more fun and motivating.
In-Reach currently organises 2km, 5km and 10km routes along the golf course for community members to enjoy the natural landscape.
The routes feature a serene water hole, rolling hills, and diverse birdlife captured at sunset and then under the stars as the run progresses.
“The Jackal Night Run/Walk has been around seven or eight years and we have always received much support from the community,” said In-Reach founder, Corné van Zyl.
“There is always a strong showing even if there is load-shedding, traffic or bad weather. We really appreciate the community.”
He explained that to make the run easier to organise and more encouraging for runners, the event will take the form of 3km loops.
Runners will also have a total of one-hour to do as many loops as they like, rather than unlimited time.
“It means people will pass the clubhouse at the 3km mark and they can be cheered on by organisers and other runners.”
Participants are always welcome to stop running at any time, but completing a set loop, meaning completing 3km, 6km or 9km, is a good way of setting targets.
Community members can find out more about these runs by visiting www.in-reach.co.za or emailing info@in-reach.co.za.
