Pets connect at Hymany Park in Randpark Ridge
The organisation, which started out as a mobile app for missing pets has grown to include outreach and educational events.
Nearly a hundred dogs (and a few brave cats) turned up at Hymany Park in Randpark Ridge for some important vaccinations and microchips..
Pet Connect organises the event quarterly and the most recent one resulted in 87 dogs and cats being vaccinated, 38 pets were microchipped, roughly 60 were dewormed and 30 had their nails clipped.
There were also aromatherapy products, frisbees and homemade recovery cones, which are made from a softer and more pet-friendly material, on sale.
“I established Pet Connect as a mobile app for lost pets and we have a website as well,” explained founder, Vanessa Fitzpatrick.
“I decided to host this event with some people I know, to help pets.”
More information can be found about Pet Connect on the website www.petconnect.co.za and phone app Pet Connect SA.
Nicole Tonkin sold pet bandanas and recovery cones that she makes.
“I am selling some refreshments and products to boost their immune system and general health,” said Shelley Benne of Animal Aromatherapy.
