A new year’s goal for Douglasdale Police Station to work more with community

The Douglasdale Police Station looked to the new year with the hope of maintaining and building a better relationship with the community.

With the new year in full swing, Douglasdale Police Station Commander Brigadier Veeshani Arikum has wished residents and community members a safe start to the new year.

She had mentioned the previous year was one that had officers able to do their jobs with ease and decisively, and had the hope that the precinct and police could continue to develop a harmonious relationship going forward.

“My hope for the policing precinct in the new year is that police and community can work well together. I hope that everyone parties responsibly and ensure that they take safety first. May you and your loved ones be blessed and protected.”

Last year, the station had a number of highlights that were applauded by the community and fellow officers, including a number of members at the station being acknowledged for their work at the South African Police Service Excellence Awards in hopes their hard work continues into the new year.

The commitment and dedication of the members does not go unnoticed by management. During the annual station awards many members were awarded for their hard work and dedication. We are proud of the teamwork and team spirit at Douglasdale.”
