Titled Petticoat Day, the annual function not only focused on participants playing friendly games of lawn bowling on December 4 but its main purpose is directed at assisting entities in need of financial support. For this year, the Petticoat Day organisers chose to raise funds for the Ann Harding Cheshire Home based in Randburg.

“We always have a theme every year and this year was dress up as any movie. It’s all about having fun with those who are experienced in the sport and those who have never played before. We thank the men of the club for their support for making it more special. My biggest highlight of the event was seeing everyone in good spirits and having to reach R2800 for donations. It was truly fantastic,” said the Petticoat Day organiser, Sarah Reid.
