Officials of the Randburg Police Station clean up Bryanston

Randburg station spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja urges the community to assist them by reporting criminal activities.

Two suspects were arrested for stealing cylinder gas bottles in Bryanston and three suspects were arrested for possession of stolen property.

According to the spokesperson for the Randburg Police Station, Captain Makgowanyana Maja, members of the crime prevention unit were tipped off that three individuals were in possession of stolen goods on August 19 around 12:00.

During their investigation around Strydom Park, officials spotted the three suspects attempting to steal a spare wheel from a vehicle stationed near the corner of CR Swart Drive and Gerhardus Street.

The suspects are due to appear before the Randburg Magistrate’s Court. The captain added that the suspects are between the ages of 40 and 47.

Maja shared that two suspects were apprehended after stealing cylinder gas bottles in Bryanston. “While the police officials are acting on the information provided by the public and arresting the perpetrators, we also appealing that the drivers of Golf and Polo vehicles to be vigilant when parking their cars as their headlights are targeted for theft. Please park your vehicle in a visible area where there’s a lot of movement to distract the criminals,” said Maja.

Randburg Police Station Commander Brigadier Michelle Jones applauded the team for their hard work on keeping communities a safe zone from criminals. She further urged community members to report any suspicious activity in the area in hopes of reducing crime.
