Randburg police have arrested two men who were found with a car-jammer and car-breaking implements on them.

Spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja said the men, both aged 31, will appear in Randburg Magistrate’s Court to face charges of being in possession of car-breaking implements and possession of suspected stolen properties.

“The police received a complaint from corner Malibongwe Drive and Avon [Road, Ferndale] about suspects who had just taken items from the victim’s vehicle,” Maja said.

“The direction and description were given to the officers whereby the members started looking for the vehicle on the way to the scene. The vehicle was spotted and a chase ensued. They managed to corner the suspects and [the suspects] left their vehicle and ran on foot.”

The two men were again chased and then caught.

“They were searched, including the vehicle. The cellphones, car-breaking implements and jamming devices were found. The suspects were arrested, and additional charges are not ruled out.”

Station Commander of Randburg Police station Brigadier Michelle Jones applauded the swift and quick response by the members which resulted in the arrests.
