Police talk about cyberbullying at school

RANDPARK – Cyber bullying and pornography are discussed during police visit to Randpark Primary School.

Police members visited Randpark Primary School recently to talk to learners about online crimes and how they can stay safe.

Warrant Officer HJ Boshof (also known informally as Bossie) of the Gauteng serial and electronics crime investigation unit, said he sometimes did these talks at schools to promote community safety.

Grade 6 and 7 learners learnt about cybercrimes, cyberbullying, online sexual and pornographic content, and how they could deal with these online and stay safe on social media.

The learners were educated on the dangers, emotional effects and legal consequences of these topics and given information on how to protect themselves if they found themselves in any of these situations.

The learners engaged with Boshof and asked questions about these topics.
