Local soccer team donates to Robin Hills Primary School

ROBIN HILLS – A group of former KwaZulu-Natal footballers staying in Gauteng donated 100 Christmas food hampers.

The misfortune of Covid-19 left many families in dire need of assistance in order to keep surviving.

In an effort to contribute the little they could and help families meet their Christmas needs, a group of former KwaZulu-Natal footballers reach out to offer a helping hand.

Former footballers residing in Gauteng called the Expats Sports Friends, an over-50s soccer team, handed over 100 Christmas food hampers to Robin Hills Primary School on December 8.
Donations were made by members of the soccer team, their families and friends who dug deep into their pockets in the spirit of Christmas.

Thaven Pillay, a teacher at the school and a member of the Expats Sports Friends, said the hampers will be distributed to the families of the learners who are part of the school’s feeding programme. “Most of the learners on the feeding scheme rely on this for their daily meal. The hampers contain non-perishable food items and household detergents which should see the families through the festive period,” he said.
