Rand Park Primary School Grade 1 learners started school with a bang on 15 February.
Their entry to the school on their first day was marked with a bell-ringing ceremony.
Flanked by seniors from the older grades, the Grade 1 learners entered the school after they said their goodbyes to their parents.
“A sincere welcome to our Grade 1s from me, on behalf of Rand Park Primary. I sincerely hope they are going to be comfortable at the school and enjoy the education we are going to provide,” said Rand Park Primary School principal Nic Pienaar.
“Obviously we were hoping to come back at 100 per cent but because of Covid regulations were are here on a rotational basis. I can assure the Grade 1s that even though this is happening, the education we provide will be the same high quality we have always provided. We are grateful to have all these wonderful little ones at the school here. Welcome, Grade 1s.”
After the bell-ringing ceremony, the learners made their way to the classrooms where they were assigned to a teacher to begin the school year. Clutching their schoolbags, they stepped into the next chapter of their lives.
