Three-vehicle collision leaves driver seriously injured in North Riding

NORTH RIDING – The woman was found to have suffered serious injuries and was treated with advanced life support interventions.

A collision between a bakkie and two light motor vehicles at the intersection of Malibongwe Drive and Ascot Avenue in North Riding left a woman believed to be in her late 40s seriously injured on Tuesday, 13 October.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 10.45am to find the woman lying in the road and other patients walking around.

“It is believed the woman’s vehicle and a bakkie collided side-on and a stationary third vehicle was then hit as a result. The woman was found to have suffered serious injuries and was treated with advanced life support interventions. She was then transported to a private hospital for further care,” explained Meiring in a released statement.

Meiring added that the driver and passenger of the bakkie declined transportation to the hospital and the occupant of the third vehicle was unharmed.
