Acacia Schools in North Riding celebrated Heritage Day.

The celebrations took place on the school’s last day of term before learners began their holiday from school. The festivities saw an amalgamation of the various cultures which come together to form the student body at Acacia Schools.

Learners were treated to a picnic outside at the school, where social distancing was observed. The Heritage Day celebrations took place both at the school, as well as virtually as some learners participated in the festivities from the comfort of their homes.

The picnic saw learners arrive at school in clothes which represented their diverse and rich cultures. The school emphasised the principle of ubuntu (I am because you are) at the Heritage Day picnic to learners.
After a short day which ended at 10am, learners concluded the school term after being exposed to the heritage of their peers, in a fun and light-hearted morning.
