COSMO CITY – The Honeydew police handed over 1 800 maths sets to the learners of Far North Secondary School and Blue Eagle High School in Cosmo City.

Members of the Honeydew police enjoyed handing over 1 800 maths sets to the learners of Far North Secondary School and Blue Eagle High School in Cosmo City on 5 March.

The maths sets were donated by the family-run Aqua Darfhan Foundation’s Logan and Loulou Naicker.

Honeydew police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said that the maths sets will do wonders in improving the access to the tools needed for mathematical and technical drawing education, where most children cannot afford it.

“The foundation contacted us as the Honeydew police to get us involved today as we know where there is a great need for something like this. We feel that education is imperative in the reduction of crime in our communities, so initiatives like this are very close to our hearts.”

The police also spoke to the learners about crime prevention and gave advice on bullying in schools.

The foundation aims to grow bigger by continuing work like this in schools, and their next donation will be free sanitary pads for girls who do not have access to them.
