King’s College has a talented actress on the rise

BRYANSTON – Upcoming actress Micah Postman is well on her way to stardom.

Fifteen-year-old Micah Postman is young, fresh and killing the acting scene. The learner from King’s College and Preparatory School in Bryanston discovered her talent at an early age.

Inspired by her older sister, Micah was always naturally talented. “One funny memory is that my sister Cassidy and I would make little shows for my parents while they were in their room and we’d record it. Being silly and having fun we didn’t know that what we were doing was actually acting, we just liked the feeling of it,” she said.

Having performed only on stage, Micah is determined to gain recognition for her talent. The motivated youngster attended an international talent convention called the International Presentation of Performers (IPOP) and travelled to Hollywood, USA for an in-depth training programme. “IPOP was the first time I ever did something like that. It’s a five-day convention, kind of like a boot camp with trained actors, dancers and singers to help you through the week. By the end of the week you get to audition for major casting agencies and big companies to show them all you’ve got.”

Travelling with a few other South Africans from DMH talent agency, Micah was the only South African to receive 23 callbacks.

Internationally and nationally trained, Micah is currently working on a video for casting calls for DreamScope entertainment – a branch of Dreamworks entertainment in America. “Right now they’re working on a new movie and holding auditions. I’m the only South African doing the video which is so exciting. I just want to be recognised. I’m not looking at big awards and big fame or a million followers right now, I just want to be recognised for my talent and passion.”

Not just a pretty face, Micah is also a writer and an avid sports player.

Her next performance will be on 11 March as the lead in a comedy titled The 7 worst break-up’s of all time at the school.
