Bight-eyed and bushy-tailed, the new Grade 1s of Rand Park Primary School and their proud parents made their way to their new school to start their schooling careers on 15 January.
A few tears were shed by little ones and parents alike, but the mood was generally one of excitement. School principal Nic Pienaar said, “It’s always exciting to see all the new little faces joining our school. This is the first day of their schooling careers and we are so proud to be at the very foundations of it.
“It was chaotic for all schools this year with the new system of registration, but we are definitely blessed with all the learners that have joined us this year. We hope that they enjoy our school environment for the next seven years.”
Teachers welcomed the little ones into their new classrooms for the year as emotional parents left their little ones for the workday ahead in safe hands.
