Community helps to feed over 40 on-duty officers for Christmas

HONEYDEW – The CPF and community members helped to raise money for a lunch for police officers on Christmas Day.

The Honeydew Community Police Forum would like to extend a huge word of thanks to all of the CPF and community members who helped to raise money for a lunch for Honeydew Police Station officers who worked tirelessly on Christmas Day and into the new year.

Honeydew CPF’s Jon Rosenberg said, “For many years now the CPF has provided a meal for on-duty officers on Christmas Day. We put the details of the donation on our community groups and this year the community donated in their numbers to help.

“These officers put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe during a time that most are taking some well-deserved relaxation time. This is a small way that our community shows our appreciation each year and for that, I have to say thank you.”

As it is a struggle to find open food outlets on Christmas Day, Rosenberg chose the KFC at Rock Cottage to purchase nearly 50 meals for the 40 on-duty police officers on Christmas Day with the money donated by the community. “I have to give a big thank you from our community to the staff of the KFC at Rock Cottage, their staff were pleasantly amazing and so accommodating on the day,” he added.
