Collision between a truck and car leaves two people seriously injured

RANDBURG – The accident caused heavy traffic on the N1 north-bound after the Malibongwe Drive turn-off.


A man and woman were left seriously injured on 19 November when their light motor vehicle crashed into a truck on the N1 north-bound after the Malibongwe turn-off in Randburg.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said their paramedics responded to the scene despite the heavy traffic at 6.15am.

He said, “On arrival, medics found a truck parked across the four lanes of the highway while a light motor vehicle was found to the rear of the truck.”

The man and woman in the light motor vehicle were found to have sustained numerous injuries and were in a serious condition.

Meiring said the patients were treated for their injuries and provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

The driver of the truck escaped without injury, local authorities were on the scene for future investigations.
