Randridge Mall is not #KwiddingAround!

RANDPARK RIDGE – Make your way to Randridge Mall to try your luck at winning the Renault Kwid and contribute to your community.

On 15 August, Randridge Mall hosted the beginning of their six-month giveaway extravaganza scheduled to conclude on 15 January next year.

The day also saw R5 000 pledged as a donation to a charity chosen by the Randburg Sun in January. The finale prize for one lucky community member and entrant to the competition is a brand new Renault Kwid with R10 000 worth of groceries.

Marketing manager of Randridge Mall Siphelele Sokhela beamed that the centre looked forward to community members making their way to the centre and the buzz the competition will create. Sokhela also mentioned that the prizes were well-thought-out and catered specifically for the community of Randpark Ridge. The competition has generated excitement and is also a way the centre has answered the question ‘What does the community really need?’ in this financial climate.

On the day the competition was launched, editor of the Randburg Sun Aimee McGill chose Zamokuhle Aftercare located in Zandspruit to donate the R5 000 too. This donation will coincide with the end of the competition in January.

Ntabiseng Princess Kwakwari of Zamokuhle felt ‘blessed’ from the pledged donation as well as continued support from Megan Botha, Norman Marshall, the Randburg Sun and all her other sponsors.

Zamokuhle has been open since 2013, as a safe haven for children a few months to 18 years old. The daycare and aftercare facility served as a place for children who cannot afford or access pre-schools to be taken care of while guardians are at work. Zamokuhle also offered matric learners in need of assistance with school work assistance. Located on the Thandanani House of Refuge property in Zandspruit, Kwakwari has nurtured a sustainable pillar in the community. Zamokuhle can be reached on 073 810 1469.

Throughout the six months leading up to the competition finale, community members are encouraged to donate stationery, non-perishable groceries, and clothing for children aged one to five in a collection box which will be placed by the Renault Kwid at Randridge Mall. The box will be marked Caxton Cares, emptied regularly and donated to Zamokuhle. Centre manager Tim Maclean beamed that Randridge Mall ‘would like to be viewed as a community centre’ as the centre has ‘been here so long’ with everything in one mall.
