Wall jumper arrested in Kensington B

KENSINGTON B – The victim was fast asleep at his house in the early hours of the morning.


 A suspect was arrested by the Randburg police for jumping over a Kensington B resident’s wall and allegedly stealing items from his motor vehicle.

According to Randburg Police Station spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja, the victim was asleep at his house in the early hours of the morning of 11 August. “The victim said that he heard the footsteps inside his property. When he woke up and went outside to investigate, he saw a suspect jumping over the wall to escape. He gave chase until he apprehended the suspect. ”

Maja said that the victim called the police, who rushed to the scene to take the suspect into custody.

“On preliminary investigation, it was established that the suspect broke into the complainant’s vehicle with an unknown object,” said Maja.

Clothing and other items that were inside the vehicle and allegedly stolen by the suspect were recovered.

The 43-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court to face charges of theft out of the motor vehicle.
