Wheel Well delivers car-seat safety snapshots

On 19 July Wheel Well founder and owner Peggie Mars hosted a class for media where she detailed the must-know details for car-seat safety.

The information session included all the need-to-knows across the three different types of car seats, installation and when to switch seats up until when children no longer need to use car or booster seats altogether. Mars has planned to continue the classes and make them available to the public on time.

The press was welcomed with warm smiles and information packs which were full of neatly folded flyers and documents with comprehensive information that was discussed throughout the three-hour event. Mars laughed that she would need days to get through everything she could tell us about car seats which is why she shied away from referring to the class as a masterclass.

With the eager help of her daughter Theresa Erasmus, the car seat expert spoke of the importance of ensured adequate car seat knowledge, where parents are often overwhelmed as children require a lot of care and intricate knowledge of subjects far removed from life before the arrival of their bundle of joy. The information dispatched emphasised paying attention to the stage of development that they’re in where ‘every part of a car seat is regulated by a regulation called 4404’ and is marked by an orange sticker which provided consumers with all the information they need.

The demonstrations shed some light on the importance of car seats, debunked some myths in relation to car-seat safety and clarified when children’s car seats must be changed due to their age. The interactive class was held at their new loft-inspired property in Strijdom Park. Mars has planned to open up the classes to the public in due course.
