R14 000 worth of cell phone tower batteries recovered

COSMO CITY – The total value of the recovered cell phone tower batteries was estimated to be around R14 000.

The Honeydew police recovered 10 stolen cell phone tower battery packs and arrested two suspects after a tip-off.

Honeydew Police Station spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said, “Officers responded according to information given to them and stopped a vehicle they presumed to be suspicious.

“When inspecting the vehicle, the officers found the large amount of cell phone tower batteries stored inside the vehicle. When they subdued the suspects, the suspects attempted to bribe the officers. The officers refused and arrested the suspects.”
